Lasagna and a wax job please!

Is this a great place or what- just show me a restaurant NOB where you can have your car washed and waxed while you're enjoying a great lunch of lasagna, salad with wonderful dressing and home made bread.

After picking up my new iron work TV table this morning and checking the mail at the pool supply place I headed for the glass place to get shelves for the table. The instructions were typical Mississippi - you know the Oxxo in Ajijic? - yes, well, turn right there and go 3 blocks up the mountain and he's the best glass place around. So, you turn right, bump and thump up the street over a couple of topes and begin looking for what might pass as a "glass shop". No, it's not a Binswanger with store front or big sign out front, it turned out to be a garage with doors open and I happened to catch the reflection of a mirror. So, a young fellow and I begin our waltz of non-communication, I need glass, Si, trace pieces, Si, then it broke down to pointing, the thickness, overhanging etc. Then the big question - when? - after some exchanges I recognized "dose" which is twelve, so I figured it would be done at noon, then price, you know, pesos? - again, breakdown, so I whipped out the trusty calculator and handed it to him, he entered 267, so I assumed we'd agreed on noon and $267p.

Back down to the Carreterra by a different street, variety is good, but guess what, another burned out light and this one was the red, I could tell by the traffic going by and eventually my signal lighting up green and them stopping, so file that one into memory. I suspect that what is happening is a limited number of bulbs and/or budget and so they rotate the working bulbs into the most critical light sockets - or not?

Now to lunch, I pulled into Mom's prepared to authorize a window washing and sure enough here comes my man, but he's offering a complete wash job AND wax with Armourall on tires etc. for $200p while I eat, what a deal. So, I enjoy my lunch with a nice glass of ice tea and then stroll casually back and he's almost done, in typical patron fashion I walk around the car, point out a few spots needing touch up and we're done - is that great or what? Now, to be sure it's not a $100 detail job and he didn't vacuum the inside for two reasons, the car was locked and he didn't have a vacuum strapped on his back. People, we're talking a guy with a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water on a dirt parking lot and it looks darn good.

Back home I open the mail and discover two checks, one from Time Warner for $23.70 and one from ATT for $.71? - well, not as generous as Time Warner, but any time you get money back from ATT you take it and run to the bank so I guess it's another trip to the LCS to mail a deposit NOB. I didn't solve the wireless problem for my new neighbor, but maybe manana.
