If it's trash day, must be Tuesday

Tuesday is trash day, as it Saturday, a twofer. Actually these guys have quite a system, it's a rolling 3 step operation, pick it up, sort it and haul it away. A guy or two are running along throwing the trash into the truck. Now, this is another manual operation, no fancy automatically pick up your can and dump and compact it, this is a high sided truck with openings on either side with a guy in back sorting as they go and reclaiming cardboard etc. so when they get to the end of the run I assume they dump the real garbage and then sell the reclaimed materials, actually a pretty efficient operation.

The day was not totally adventurous, actually rather mundane and that's good for a change. The weather station continues to settle with some supervision and I'm starting to get a small handle on the paperwork left over from NOB. I had lunch at Mom's who served up a great ruben sandwich, tomorrow is meatloaf. Then I headed west and went all the way to the other end and up into Las Fuentes, a place I had looked at a house. A nice area, but again, the place I picked is much more suited to my life style (whatever that is?). I stopped by the mailbox, USPS still isn't coming through, so guess I'll need to call them, what a joke that will be.

I am a bit surprised, I keep asking for leaf blowers, but no one seems to know where to get one? - and I thought that was standard equipment for all Mexican's NOB. Oh well, the search continues.

Neil in Albuquerque says I should check out Tonala, a suburb of GDL which has many shops, just not on Thurs or Sunday, those are market days and everything is nutso. Maybe I'll find a recliner there.

I spent some time this morning trying to wash the dirt off the front drive, but the surface isn't sloped, or actually it is, totally sloped in all directions so you can't get a wash pattern going, boy I could do some real good with my powerwasher. I'm beginning to think I should make a run to TX to pickup some things I can really use like the washer and my check books for instance and maybe another plate or two and the box of stuff from my desk and drawers.

So it goes, we may be expecting thunder storms tonite, but the good news is we fixed the leak on the roof - I think.
